Is anyone a member of Directbuy.com? How much is the membership fee? Any catches? Pros and Cons?

Can't really find any information about their membership fees and rules..|||I am not a member but I know many people who joined and they all regret it. The major con in this operation is that it is designed to discourage you from using it. You will find that the money that you save with them is comparable to the money that you would save at your local retailer.

Also take into consideration that many of the items are discontinued or knock-offs of the real thing so the customer support and warranty for the item isn't all that great. And even if you see the exact item you want, sometimes you will end up getting a comparable item with similar features.

You might buy a Sony CD player in the catalog for $150 and then they will end up giving a Pioneer CD player. Which they can do simply because you agreed to it in the fine print.|||IT COSTS $5,000.00 (as of Oct. 2006 in Utah) to join for two years and then $186.00 for the following 8 years. Another important fact you should know is that YOU WON鈥橳 BE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO THINK ABOUT IT. I was told that IF I DID NOT SIGN NOW, I WOULD NEVER BE INVITED AGAIN.

|||PROS: If you are willing to spend $30,000+, it may be worth it. CONS: You still have to pay shipping and sales tax, and shipping is NOT cheap when you are buying home appliances, furniture, and other heavy items.
