At university to get our exam papers back with the examiners' notes on them, we need to pay a fee of 拢10, but should we need to do this when the information is legally entitled to us by the Freedom of Information Act?|||FOIA normally applies to government agencies.
You could try and file a claim citing what you think is the relevant portion of the Act, but good luck with that.|||That fee is to cover the costs of labor and materials.|||Yes, unless you can retrieve them yourself your paying for their service.|||You are not asking for information, you are asking for paperwork. These would probably be copies and you need to pay for the person doing the copying and the materials.|||I don't know about Britain, even if it has a Freedom of Information Act, but in US, the FOIA applies ONLY to government agencies, and they can charge copying fees.
