I am going to assume that you are living in Canada as I was only searching for Canaidan questions at this time.
As you probably already there is the Canaidan Privacy Act. whichi is at this website:

Now that being said you as an individual have the right to access information about yourself which is collected by orgzanizations and correct it if necessary.
If you are looking for your own personal information regarding healthcare then the following website answers your questions.
You can request your own personal copies of tests, xrays, etc by signing a form and asking for them. Other than the doctor's personal file notes on you (they are his/hers only) - you should be able to access everything else without paying a fee.

If you are concerned about personal information in regards to a business especially a small business the next website answers the questions.
http://privacyforbusiness.ic.gc.ca/epic/鈥?/a>
The informations of personal information, the way it's collected and used is on the following website. It tells you the limitations, consent needed, disclosurer, etc.
http://privcom.gc.ca/information/guide_e鈥?/a>
If you are looking for your personal credit history then you can obtain it free from: They will supply you with a FREE Personal Disclosure of your own credit history.(not someone other than you though)

The last poster's website unfortunately only applies if you are living in the US but never the less a good site for US residents. Finding your OWN personal information in CANADA is absoutely possible but unfortunately there isn't a one size fits all website to access it from.
Individuals wanting personal information regarding someone other than themselves will be disappointed because unless the other person authorized you as being able to access information from that particular compnay you won't be privy to it. For EACH company that someone wants another person to be privy to their information they must sign a form authorizing you to do so.
Hopefully this has answered your question.
Good Luck.|||depends on who and how personal your looking for, when it comes to information. a lot of it can be access for free but the rest cost you. all depends on how bad you want to know something
