They want $54 additional to my ticket for info on driving school. I can just do a google search. Do I have to pay it?|||Generally the driving school will want a short form of your driving record, and there are admin "fees" attached to that... I suspect that this is your case. That fee will pay for the paperwork you will need to finish out the driving school class.
My experience has been this: Texas requires an 8 hour class, can be all at one time or split between two days. I took the 8 hour option (one Saturday) and was done with it. Once before, I took the split course, but it was a hassle since I lost two evenings that way.
You may end up spending a few bucks more to take the class and avoid the hit to your record, but the long term benefits out weigh the temporary setback to your wallet, in my humble opinion.
*added You will still pay the cost of the class as well. This thing is just a "fee". Yeah, they get you coming and going. :-)|||You have to pay for traffic school, yes, and the schools have to be court-approved. But it keeps the ticket off your record so your insurance premium won't go up. Just pay the fee.|||I believe the $54 is the registration fee for driving school.
